#musicmonday Album Inspiration

Yes, it's official, the process of writing my debut album has begun! This has already been the most personal and most collaborative project I've ever done. I'm working with the wonderfully talented Alex Smith on this music and it's developing beautifully. I want to keep you in the loop every step of the way, so...

This whole thing began with INSPIRATION! I've been like a sponge lately, soaking up everything. I'm starting a #musicmonday which will be featured here every Monday. I'll be posting music that is inspiring my album! Check out these tunes/musicians and please comment - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

ALBUM INSPIRATION #1: "Whiskey Legs" - Tedeschi Trucks Band

I've been listening to a lot of Tedeschi Trucks Band. Their music instantly reminded me of my parents and the funk/blues music they listened to in my childhood. This song is called "Whiskey Legs" from their Made Up Mind album released last fall. I love the grittiness of this music and the driving percussion on this song in particular. Very groovy, but still takes you to unexpected places. Enjoy!

LIVE - Rockwood Recap

On February 12th, myself and an incredible group of musicians/friends took the stage at Rockwood Music Hall. It was our first time playing stage 3 and we had a blast. We played new songs, old songs and a Bonnie Raitt cover that almost made me cry! It was a great night, great crowd and we can't wait to be back there.

Elle Winston x The Brooklyn Circus

Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of being a model for The Brooklyn Circus' latest photoshoot for their ongoing book series. The Brooklyn Circus partnered with photographer John Midgley & stylist Scott Newkirk for this project. The vibe on in the studio was amazing - Billy Holiday playing, lots of vintage props and great creative minds talking about life in Brooklyn.
